Effect: While the Candle of Unwanted Attention is burning, all creatures within a 60-foot radius must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw at the start of their turn. On a failed save, they are compelled to look at the candle, becoming distracted by its glow. Creatures who fail the save will focus their attention on the candlebearer, making it nearly impossible to avoid detection or slip away unnoticed. This effect lasts until the candle is extinguished or until the creature leaves the radius.
In combat, affected creatures have disadvantage on attack rolls against any target other than the candlebearer, as their gaze keeps flickering back to the source of the light. The candle burns for a total of 2 hours and can be extinguished and relit at will, though the attention-drawing effect resets each time it is lit.
Quirk: The candle’s glow also seems to attract minor nuisances—like mosquitoes, small animals, or even curious children—who are inexplicably drawn to the light, creating additional complications for the unwary adventurer.
